Our first seminar with Yamada Shihan held in mid-July was a resounding success! Said Lim Jiaqi from Impact Aikido: "It has been an awesome refreshing experience in the aikido seminar. “I’m delighted to see that the children who graded were able to execute the techniques that were shared with them all these months. From the smiles on their own faces, I know they actually enjoyed the grading, and that makes me happy too. A lot of the credit goes to the instructors and leaders who have patiently guided these children.
As for the adults, I know that they have been training hard for this grading, and it showed. I am most impressed by how they have approached their grading with great enthusiasm. It was a Saturday of many firsts. The first time students got a taste of different Aikido styles; the first opportunity some students trained with people from other Aikido school; the first students from each of our 3 dojos got to know one another better; the first time lunch was provided after training =P; and probably the first time there was such a training collaboration between different Aikido schools in Singapore.
